Measuring What Matters: Our Journey Through Google’s Impact Measurement Program

At FeatheryCare, we’ve always spoken about impact.

Reducing poultry mortality.

Improving farmer income.

Strengthening food systems.

Making protein more accessible and affordable.

But recently, we asked ourselves an important question:

Are we measuring this impact as intentionally as we build our technology?

That question led us to complete the Google Startups for Sustainable Development Impact Measurement Program, a global initiative designed to help startups align their work with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and measure their contribution in a structured way.

Moving Beyond Good Intentions

In agriculture, especially across emerging markets, impact can feel obvious. When farmers use Cluck Mobile to track mortality and reduce losses, that’s impact. When CluckLink facilitates the supply of over 1,000 crates of eggs into the market, that’s impact. When CluckLens collects over 7,000 hours of farm data to improve AI-powered monitoring, that’s impact.

But impact isn’t just what we see, it’s what we can measure, track, improve, and communicate clearly.

Through the program, we deepened our understanding of how FeatheryCare aligns with SDG 2: Zero Hunger, and how our platform contributes to food security, production efficiency, and farmer resilience across markets in Africa and Beyond.

Why This Matters for FeatheryCare

As builders of the Cluck Intelligence Poultry Platform, we operate at the intersection of technology, agriculture, and livelihood systems. Our tools are used by over 400 users globally. Our ecosystem supports farmers, aggregators, and institutions.

But scale without structure can blur impact.

The program helped us:

  • Define clearer impact metrics

  • Track SDG-aligned outcomes more intentionally

  • Identify areas for improvement

  • Communicate our progress transparently to partners and stakeholders

This is not just about reporting. It’s about responsibility.

Building With Accountability

Technology must not only be innovative, it must be accountable.

As FeatheryCare continues to grow, our goal is to ensure that every product, from Cluck Mobile to CluckLink to CluckLens, contributes meaningfully to stronger food systems and measurable improvements for farmers.

Completing this program reinforces our commitment to building solutions that are not only scalable, but measurable and aligned with global development priorities.

We are grateful for the learning, the structure, and the opportunity to strengthen how we define and report our impact.

The work continues, but now, we measure it better.
